As a comet that destroys planets approaches Earth, a family struggles to survive. A perilous journey leads John Garrity (Gerard Butler), his estranged wife Allison (Morena Baccarin), and their young son Nathan to their sole refuge. The Garrity family goes through the best and worst of humanity as they fight against the growing panic and lawlessness around them amid terrifying news reports of comet fragments leveling cities all over the world. As the countdown to global apocalypse approaches zero, their incredible trek culminates in a desperate and last-minute flight to a possible safe haven.
